John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
God's love was revealed when Jesus Christ came into the world, conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead.
God loved us so much that He gave his only son to die for our sins. Because Christ died, and rose again from the dead, we can be forgiven from sin, and also have eternal life.
That's right! Jesus took your place and my place at the cross.
He died in our place.
Please, take a walk with me down the "Roman Road."
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." We have all sinned; we are all sinners.
There is a penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death."
We are all guilty.
Romans 5:8 "But God commends his love toward us, in that , while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Although we are all sinners, guilty of death, Christ knowing this, took our place, paid the penalty of death, for us.
Romans 6:23 also says, " The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
God gives us the gift of eternal life through what Jesus Christ did at the cross, and also at the resurrection.
Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus; and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
There is an old song that we sing, "Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling for sinners, come home."
