   The Full Gospel Church was founded in 1975 by Pastor Randy E. Lewis. The Church started as a missions work in Cape Charles, Virginia. Pastor Lewis, and his family, Sandra (wife), and Steve, his 5-year-old son, traveled for 3 ½ years from West Point,Va. to Cape Charles, Va. (About 250 miles round trip.) They moved to the Eastern Shore in 1979. Pastor Lewis and his wife had their second son, Jamie, in 1980.

   We started in a building that was a paint and body shop. From there we moved to a storefront building, which was previously used as a beauty parlor. Our next move was to a building that was formerly a bar. Each place has its special memories of how God met us in special ways.

    We preached the Gospel, and souls were saved in each of these buildings. The Spirit of God moved and blessed in spite of the old buildings. In 1983,on New Year's Night, a prophecy was given saying that we would build. We were blessed; and the Lord enabled us to build a new church. In 1987, we dedicated our new church. We were there 6 years, and then added an addition for more Sunday School rooms. Our Church was paid for in the first year; in which we praise God. The addition was paid for upon completion. The Lord has blessed and we are expecting to build again as the Lord leads.     

There are so many memories over the past 30 years and so many wonderful things that the Lord has done. We give God the honor and glory for the great things He has done.
